Representatives from Vantage Plane Plastics traveled to Gainesville, Texas (GLE) on Saturday, May 14, 2005 for the annual open house of Tomlinson Avionics of Texas. Tomlinson Avionics has been a Accredited Plane Plastics Installer since January 2002.

Bryan Powers, Director of Sales, and Ladonna Durkee, Customer Service Manager, were on hand to answer customer questions, take orders and pass out catalogs and literature. This is the second consecutive year Vantage Plane Plastics has been in attendance. Approximately 150 people and around 55 planes flew into the Gainesville Airport for the event. We are very appreciative for the opportunity to be a part of this annual event.

Vantage Plane Plastics will be in attendance at Tomlinson Avionics Open House on Saturday, May 14, 2005 in Gainesville, Texas. The event is scheduled from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Representatives will be distributing CD catalogs and answering questions.

This will be the second consecutive year Vantage Plane Plastics has participated in the event. Tomlinson Avionics has been a Vantage Plane Plastics Accredited Installer since January of 2002. Representatives from Garmin, Century Flight Systems, L-3 Communications, and WSI, SANDEL as well as many other vendors will be present.

There will also be a special presentation by the FAA Wings program. Lunch will be provided by Tomlinson Avionics and door prizes will be given away all day long.

Over the last four years Vantage Plane Plastics has held gift certificate drawings for customers. Vantage Plane Plastics is very pleased to announce the gift certificate winners for this year’s Sun ‘n Fun drawings.

The grand prize from Vantage Plane Plastics went to Gorden and Dinah Burgess. The Burgess’ won a $500.00 gift certificate towards replacement interior plastic parts. Gorden and Dinah’s name was drawn from a pool of nineteen names. To be eligible for the $500.00 gift certificate show goers had to place an order over $300.00 with Vantage Plane Plastics representatives at the show booth in Lakeland, Florida.

Two $100.00 gift certificates were also given away to Wes Shartle and Dennis Garrett. To be included in this drawing customers registered on a sign up sheet in the booth at Sun ‘n Fun.

The radiant atmosphere couldn’t have been better for all participants involved in Sun ‘n Fun 2005. Attending Sun ‘n Fun for the fourth year, Vantage Plane Plastics enjoyed being able to converse with customers and vendors. Customers who came by the Vantage Plane Plastics booths were able to view new products, revisions to their favorite modules, and speak one on one with representatives.

Every year proves to be an uplifting experience and despite the rising gas prices, and Mother Nature, Sun ‘n Fun’s attendance this year was almost 160,000 people. Accident free for the third year in a row, Sun ‘n Fun was an amazing experience for everyone. In the sky, stunt pilots performed impressive aerobatics, on the ground; customers could find a wide variety of booths to find the products they needed to enhance their aircraft. For those who haven’t attended Sun ‘n Fun, next year would be the perfect opportunity to experience all of the events this remarkable trade show has to offer.

Vantage Plane Plastics is very honored and excited to be a part of the 2005 AOPA Commander Countdown Sweepstakes. The Sweepstakes is an annual event in which the AOPA organization gives away a fully refurbished aircraft to one of its 400,000 plus members. This year’s sweepstakes plane is N112WN, a 1974 Rockwell Commander 112A, serial number 169.

In February, Vantage Plane Plastics was selected to produce the new interior plastic parts for the Commander 112A. Vantage Plane Plastics has a complete catalog of FAA/PMA approved Commander interior parts. Most of their molds are the same original factory tools, used by the Bethany, Oklahoma based Rockwell Commander.

All the old plastic parts were stripped from the giveaway plane and sent to Vantage Plane Plastics for their experienced employees to manufacture and trim new parts to the exact detail of the old brittle pieces. Once the new parts had been completed and finished they were sent to Master Aircraft Painters in Wickenburg, Arizona for painting and installation.

The Commander 112A was flown to Lakeland, Florida in April for the annual Sun ‘n Fun Fly-in. At Sun ‘n Fun, N112WN was exposed to approximately 160,000 show goers. Attendees were able to get an up close look at the outstanding refurbishment and beauty of this grand prize airplane. The Commander 112A is scheduled to appear at all the major aviation trade shows in the United States. Included are EAA Airventure (July 25-31) in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, and AOPA Expo (November 3-5) in Tampa, Florida.
